We’re buzzing to welcome back Urem, after his electrifying set at our 7th birthday last year. Also returning, Frida Darko & Atric—the first downtempo artists we ever booked back in 2022, whose sound has inspired A2J’s musical journey over the last few years—reunite for a hypnotic back-to-back session, rekindling the magic of their last improvised performance at A2J. Joining them, Sarah Bass & Flave (live) bring the deep, rolling energy, while our storyteller Fabïan and the special duo Flawd by KayBe complete the lineup.

A dream team of top-tier queer baddies is flying in from São Paulo, Mexico via LA, Berlin, Brighton, Margate, and beyond —alongside some of the most esteemed and celebrated nasty slags of London’s queer scene. After an amazing first event at No90 Hideout, Giles Smith & Friends is back on Friday June 13th for more explorations into deep, soulful and spiritual music.

Headlining the party Giles invites the one and only Fred P. If we are talking about Deep House, Fred is no doubt an integral part of the continuum, making his own contribution and development of the sub genre alongside the greats. The NYC born artist is prolific, releasing exceptional music across monikors Black Jazz Consortium, Anomaly and FP-Oner to name a few.

For those younger fans that have not witnessed a Fred P set – trust us – his DJing is as dope and as deeeeep as his productions. Giles and Fred go way back and have played together on numerous occasions around the world but it’s been a minute so we are excited for this re-union!

Stepping up to the warm the party up will be Blissy E. The young London based DJ and radio host has turned heads playing her own soulful blend across house, broken beat, soul and jazz and has played for the likes of Apron, Wolf Music, NT’s Loft and will later this summer spin at We Out Here. Check out her bi-monthly radio show The Run the Riddim breakfast show on Voices Radio.

Giles Smith, 25 years in the game, continues to be an ambassador for soulful dance music whether it be via his coveted DJ sets in spots like Giant Steps, Panorama Bar, Nowadays, Womb; his much loved NTS shows or his productions. On 14th June, one of London’s most treasured parties Tangent returns, coming to our beautifully refurbished new room Hideout, after a legendary residency at The Pickle Factory.

For the first time, our hosts and truly special diggers John Gómez and Nick The Record will take control of our wooden room, spinning a 6 hour boundary-less set through their record collections.

Please be aware that the venue is a warehouse type space with bare floors and partly daylit – very rave!

Terms and Conditions

Parents remain responsible for their children at all times.

• • For families with younger children (8s and under) though all ages are welcome.
  • Adult only groups are not admitted . A max of 3 children per adult in a family. If attending as a large party (more than two families) please ensure one adult to two children minimum.
  • If there are more than 4 adults per child in your group please email info@bigfishlittlefishevents.com for pre-approval before buying tickets.
  • Tickets are non-refundable but can be transferred/sold on.
  • Each member of your group must have a ticket and pre-walking infants free (but ticketed).
  • The event will be busy with hundreds of people attending. The dancefloor is for adults and children to dance together. The DJs does not do requests or shoutouts – we are creating a family-friendly old skool rave atmosphere, not a children’s birthday party.
  • Please be aware that events are standing/dancing with extremely limited seating.
  • There will be low lighting (no strobes) so please allow a few minutes for your eyes to adjust when entering.
  • Each event is stewarded and risk assessed in advance.
  • Buggies must be left in buggy park outside the event space and will not be allowed on the dance floor. NB bring a rain cover if it looks like rain.
  • A licensed bar will be open during the event but no glass is permitted.
  • We may photograph or film small parts of the event and by entering you are giving your permission for these to be used for BFLF promotion purposes.
  • DJs may be altered unavoidably at the last minute.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

All ages welcome but acitivities are designed with 0-8 years olds in mind. Music is played at safe levels for everyone.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Near to Hackney Wick train station and bus links.

What’s the refund policy?

There is a no refund policy but if you are unable to attend you may sell your tickets to someone else. If well in advance of a sold out event please email info@bigfishlittlefishevents.co.uk so we can try and match you with someone on the wiating list.

How Loud will it be?

BFLF sets and monitors the volume using World Health Organisation guidelines – so that is it at a safe level for everyone, even the youngest babies, over the 2 and a half hour duration of the event. Though quieter than at adult events, it is still loud enough to feel like you are at a club. Most parents do not use ear defenders on their children but if yours are particularly sensitive to noise or if you want them to nap then you might want to consider it.
